Hack Moval is a Hackathon hosted by Moreno Valley College. Create a project from scratch in our short format 8 hour long hackathon. Choose from one of the two tracks to start your project. This event is open to anyone over the age of 14 years.

Python 3 will be the official programming language for the Hack MoVal event. It is a powerful, light and easy to pick up language that will open your doors to many different platforms like Raspberry Pi, Linux, Micro:bit, Internet of Thing devices, and much more.
Getting Python 3 on your computer depends on your operating system. There are many resources on the internet on how to get it. Access the Python official website for the download and installion information.
To learn the basics of the Python 3 programming language, check out the Python 3 documenation. This contains all information on the functions and libraries that you might need for your team project. There will be support from student facilitators.
VirtualBox is a powerful tool that will allow you to virtualize a computer inside your computer. You will need it for this event because we will be supplying a pre-configured Ubuntu operating system. It will contain the necessary packages for completing the event.

Installing VirtualBox on your computer, just like a programming language, depends on your operating system. Use the VirtualBox official site to download the software executable. The internet is a very useful tool for learning how to install the application.
